Boozy Cranberry Sauce

This dish is my absolute favorite thing about Thanksgiving dinner. I love the tart sweetness with the hint of spice. It too can be made ahead the day before serving.

  • 1 bag fresh cranberries

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1/4 cup orange liquor

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • juice of 1 orange and zest

  1. Add cranberries, water, sugar, orange juice, and cinnamon stick to a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat stirring often.

  2. berries will begin to pop and sauce will begin to thicken. Reduce heat and cook about 10 minutes.

  3. Remove from heat and stir in orange liquor and orange zest.

  4. Refrigerate until completely cool and mixture becomes set.
