Fall Favorites

Fall made a grand entrance this week here in East Tennessee. So much that I pulled out a few sweaters, wore my Hunter Rain Boots and made Chili all in the first week of fall.
Fall is definitely the season that brings all the feels and I want to share with you a few of my favorites for this time of year.
Ive included my favorite soups, boots, and outdoor outdoor activities for the family- I’ve included it all!

Top 10 Favorite thing for Fall

1. Caramel Corn - I love making a big batch of caramel corn. I often take it on our RZR riding trips, its the prefect snack. Be watching for me caramel corn recipe soon!

2. Chili - I love making a big pot of chili. I like mine with a side of jalapeño, avocado, and extra chili powder. I always serve a variety of toppers so that everyone can add what they like. Some other good chili toppers include sour cream, shredded cheese, diced onion, and a variety of crackers. Recipe

3. Sweet Red Wine - There’s just something about sipping on a glass of red wine on the back porch, watching the stars in that crisp fall air. Oliver Soft Red and Southern Red by Tennessee Homemade Wines are two of my favorites.

4. Denim jackets and tops - I love denim tops. Especially my denim jacket. I seriously don’t think a jeans jacket can ever go out of style.

5. Muck boots - y’all, these are the best boots. They look good, they’re easy to clean. Waterproof. Warm. Super comfortable. Perfect for wearing to do outdoor chores, in the rain or on a fall day in the backwoods. And you should see their newest styles!!!!

6. Thieves essential oil- The cinnamon smell creates a sweet, fall feel to my home when I diffuse Thieves in my diffuser. I also use Thieves all purpose cleaner for my kitchen, bathroom and floors.

7. Candy Corn Bark - this goodness is so addicting and super simple to make with your kids! It literally has 4 ingredients. Recipe

8. Cataloochie - This North Carolina area of the Smoky Mountains is known for their Elk. It’s a great day trip for the family. We like to pack a picnic dinner and arrive late afternoon. It’s almost a guarantee you will see (and hear) the elk before dusk.

9. Smoky Mountain Jeep Rentals - This is the best 200 dollars I spend in the fall. We rent a Jeep and roam the mountains. The Jeep rental is for a 24 hour period and is most definitely money well spent. We like to pack blankets, snacks and just take in the mountain air and all the lovely colors of fall.

10. In the fall my family would choose a night by the fire pit over a night out on the town. I recently made this Nutella S’mores Dip that was to die for! It’s so simple- with just two ingredients, and my kids loved it!

Nutella S’mores Dip

1- 8 oz. container Nutella

2 cups mini marshmallows

graham crackers or Lotus Cookies for dipping

I prefer to make this in my 8” iron skillet, but you could also use a oven proof bowl or baking dish.

Grease skillet or pan.

Spread the Nutella in the pan.

Cover with marshmallows.
Place under broiler for 3-4 minutes. Watching closely.

Remove and serve. Best if served immediately.
